Swim Lessons

Let us know if your interested in Swim Lessons by completing the Interest Form here. The Town of Chesapeake Beach is coordinating with Calvert County Government to offer life saving swim lessons at Calvert County facilities by employing our award winning Town of Chesapeake Beach Aquatics Team! If you are a Town resident and are interested in swim lessons for your child please complete the interest form linked here. Pending final approval by Town Council and the Board of County Commissioners, 3 levels of classes could be offered:

  • Tadpoles (ages 3 to 5) - Water exploration – children learn basics of swimming: bobbing, flutter kicks, front/back float, blowing bubbles, etc.
  • Jelly Fish (ages 5 to 7) - Swimmers will enhance their skills and develop new techniques: alternating arms, front/back glide, arms & legs together, submerging face.
  • Sting Rays (ages 7 to 10) - Swimmers enhance their skills and develop new techniques: rhythmic breathing, front/back crawl, treading water, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, butterfly, sidestroke.

May 7, 2024 Town of Chesapeake Beach Town Council Meeting (This meeting will serve as the April 18, 2024 Town Council). Public hearing budget ordinances begin at 5:50 PM with the regular meeting beginning at 6:00 PM. To view the meeting agenda please click here. May 29, 2024 (see below for further details) Town of Chesapeake Beach Board of Appeals Hearing on the continuation of Case #2023-03 to consider an application from Rod & Reel, Inc./Donovan Estates, LLC of 4160 Mears Avenue, Chesapeake Beach, MD, for a Decision on Interpretation or Alleged Error to Article VI, §290-23; §290-31 A(1) & (6) of the Chesapeake Beach Zoning Ordinance; and C-309, C-310, and C-311 of the Chesapeake Beach Town Charter. This meeting will be held at the Chesapeake Beach Town Hall and live-streamed here on the Town's channel.


BOARD OF APPEALS NOTICE: 

On Case #2023-03 Rod & Reel, Inc. / Donovan Estates, LLC.

Case #2023-03 - Notice is hereby given that the Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on May 29, 2024 beginning at 6:30 p.m for a continuation of Case #2023-23 to consider an application from Rod & Reel, Inc./Donovan Estates, LLC of 4160 Mears Avenue, Chesapeake Beach, MD, for a Decision on Interpretation or Alleged Error to Article VI, §290-23; §290-31 A(1) & (6) of the Chesapeake Beach Zoning Ordinance; and C-309, C-310, and C-311 of the Chesapeake Beach Town Charter. The Applicant requests the Chesapeake Beach Zoning Board of Appeals to "order the Zoning Administrator and Planning and Zoning Commission (to) immediately commence and prioritize the processing and review of the relevant site plans submitted by Rod & Reel, Inc./Donovan Estates, LLC and that the Zoning Administrator and Planning and Zoning Commission be ordered to apply the Zoning ordinances in effect as of January 29, 2021, when the applications were submitted, and for such other and further relief as the nature of their cause requires". This hearing is a continuation of the September 19, 2023, October 30, 2023, November 14, 2023, January 4, 2024, January 25, 2024, February 8, 2024, March 14, 2024, and April 17, 2024

Join the Mayor and Town Council for the ribbon cutting of Shisler Park & Favret Way. The Mayor and Town will officially cut the ribbon of "Shisler Park" and "Favret Way" located on the Bayfront at 29th street just after 5 PM in partnership with Baia Coastal Kitchen and Wine Bar. Come by to celebrate community gathering and new Town amenities positioned to view the Chesapeake Bay. Stay tuned for fun activities to come to recognize the "Buc's Corner" access point on the northern side of Kellam's field and the "Old Campgrounds Park" located on the B street waterfront overlook. 

Stars N Stripes

George W. Owings III Stars & Stripes Festival Saturday May 25th starting at 10 AM and followed by Family Fun Day at Kellam's Field with a community gathering honoring those that gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy. The family fun day will offer continued education on the meaning of memorial day and celebrate our freedoms and community. Join us for live music, a community picnic, games and activities. 

Parade

We invite you to come dressed in your best Red, White, and Blue attire in honor and respect for our Fallen Heroes. Families, community groups, and residents of all ages are welcome to participate, observe, and enjoy a fun-filled day celebrating our Fallen Heroes and the freedoms we enjoy everyday as a result of their sacrifice. Register for the parade by May 17th. Detailed information about requirements, parade route, and participation guidelines will be provided to all registrants.
